What Kept in Service records when you read a page, what it does not do with your data, and how to write to the desk about it.

This site is a set of static pages served from a content delivery network. Reading it does not require an account, a subscription or a form, and the desk does not ask for a name, an address or a payment detail to show a page.
What is recorded
The hosting network records the standard request information that any web server keeps: the address a request came from, the time, the page requested and the browser identification string. Those records exist to serve the pages and to protect the site against abuse, and they are not used to build a profile of a reader.
The site sets no advertising cookie and no analytics cookie of its own. Pages are served with a single stylesheet and no third party script, so no external service receives a request from your browser when you read an entry.
What the desk does with a message
If you write to the address on the contact page, the message and your address are kept so the desk can answer and so a correction can be traced to its source. They are not sold, not rented and not added to a mailing list. Ask for a message to be deleted and it is deleted, unless the correction it carries has already changed an entry.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may ask what personal data the desk holds about you, ask for a copy, ask for a correction and ask for erasure. Write to the address on the contact page and the desk answers within a month. If you believe the answer is wrong, you may complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live.
Changes to this page
When this page changes, the date of the change is recorded at the foot of the text. The desk does not change a privacy page quietly to fit a new practice: a new practice is described here first.
